Andy Buck

In the spring of 2013, Tad and Andy Buck would meet for the first time at Webber Academy in Calgary, AB. Their connection was instant. Andy would believe so passionately in the work that Tad and Bullying Ends Here was doing that he would attend dozens of presentations in the months to follow.

Andy went so far as to get the program exposure an unprecedented level in Calgary and within the Calgary Police Service. It is because of Andy that Tad would eventually join Andy and become a Member of the Calgary Police Service.

Andy would not stop with his determination to promote Bullying Ends Here. He would connect with many in the community and eventually become the Vice-President of Bullying Ends Here. There is not a single person that deserves this award more than Andy.

There is not a day that goes by that Andy isn’t developing connections, contacts and strategically planning. Andy is Bullying Ends Here

Laura Ballance

In the fall of 2012, Tad was asked to speak at a public event in Surrey, BC after the tragic passing of Amanda Todd. At this event, Tad met Laura Ballance who was responsible for media relations and coordination. An instant connection would be formed between Tad and Laura that would quickly become a dear friend. Laura, the President of LBMG (Laura Ballance Media Group) based out of Vancouver BC, would offer her services on countless occasions to Bullying Ends Here because she believed in the work being done. Laura worked tirelessly, at no charge to the charity, to get exposure on the international stage by arranging dozens of media interviews. Bullying Ends Here owes much to Laura, and her amazing team, for working so hard and devoting so much time promoting our work. It goes without saying, that because of Laura and her dedication, many lives have been changed and saved.

Tara Nelson

Tara has been a major supporter of Bullying Ends Here for many years. Tara was the first friend in the media to reach out and want to do an “interest piece” on our program when we moved to Calgary. The piece was very well received and led to many requests from schools to have the presentation shared in local schools. The piece is still a favourite of ours. Tara has given her time, support and friendship to our program on many occasions, including MC”ing a fundraiser with Rick Mercer in 2015. Tara continues to be one of the charity’s closest friends and for this we are grateful. Thank you Tara for being so amazing. Together, we will not only change lives but SAVE them!

The Hubley's

On October 15, 2011, Jamie Hubley committed suicide at the age of 15 after battling years of relentless bullying and a battle with mental health. Allan and Wendy Hubley, Jamie’s parents, have worked tirelessly trying to help those that need it most since their son’s passing. From working closely with youth mental health charities in the Ottawa area to being a part of Bullying Ends Here, they are ensuring that Jamie’s message of acceptance and understanding continue. It was in 2012, that Tad reached out to the Hubley family, asking permission to share Jamie’s story with the world. The connection was instant and indescribable. Allan and Wendy have contributed to the book “Bullying Ends Here -My Life” and have embraced Tad and his journey trying to pick up where Jamie left off. Although a tragedy is what would bring Tad, the Hubley’s and ultimately Bullying Ends Here together, much positive work would result. There is an Angel up above, smiling down on us, knowing that his memory is very much alive.
